William McCreary Obituary
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, in Grace United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit, and at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 15 in Mayfield Federated Church in Mayfield, Kan.
Burial in Osborn Township Cemetery, Mayfield, Kan.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, December 13 in Grace United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit.
A memorial has been established in the name of Bill McCreary at Children's Miracle Network, 2100 W 36th Ave, Suite 116, Kansas City, KS 66103.
Bill was born March 25, 1986 in Wichita, Kan. After moving with his family to Lee's Summit, MO at age 7, he graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 2004. While in high school, he participated on the school's swim team and trap shooting team, and was active in the youth group at Grace United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed music and played bass guitar in a "garage" band. After high school he attended Longview Community College in Lee's Summit and then worked for a couple of years before returning to school at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. At the time of his death he was enrolled as a biology major at MSU.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bruce McCreary.
Survivors include his parents, Chris and Sandra McCreary; brothers, Marcus and Jeffrey; and sister, Michelle, all of Lee's Summit, as well as his grandparents Maxine McCreary, of Wellington, Kan., and Dean and Norma Hill, of Hoyt, Kan., and great-grandmother Nellie Melville, of Mt Vernon, Mo. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mike and I want you to know that your family continues to be in our thoughts and prayers and that 3 masses at our church are being offered in Bill's name.
We also wanted to let you know that we inadvertently drove by the scene of the accident, after meeting Josh and his wife to pick up our grandsons today, and saw Marc sitting on the bench there. We stopped and talked awhile, and we mentioned that Bill died 1 day, but he lived many others (that will be fondly remembered).

McCreary Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I met Bill at the Postal Community Credit Union in Springfield, MO. He was very professional and I wondered if he ever laughed until one day he broke out with that little chuckle of his. He was a wonderful young man and will be missed. I met Bill while he was attending the University of Rolla, Mo. I thought Bill was a all around good person and a good friend to everyone. I will miss his company and his unique humor. We used to target shoot - no one could come close to his skill. My condolences to your family.

I met Bill through Braden. They came over every Formula 1 Sunday. We instantly became good friends when we started watching Formula 1 together. He will be missed by me and others here at MSU. God Bless.

We remember Bill well. He was in Youth Group with Ashley. He was always so kind towards others including us and I can see from the story that he had grown into a wonderful young man. There is no pain worse than losing a child. You are in our family's prayers.
