Obituary
Albert Carl Burkert, 84, of N. Ft. Myers, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at his home. Born June 1, 1919 in Frankfurt, Germany, he immigrated to Muskegon Heights, Michigan at the age of five with his parents. A graduate of Muskegon Heights, Michigan High School, Class of '36', he served in the Army Air Force in WWII, came to Tampa, FL. in 1959 and moved to N. Ft. Myers from Pembroke Pines, FL. in 1991. Mr. Burkert retired January 1, 1983 as comptroller from Florida Bearings, Inc. of Miami, FL.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Eileen Jacobs Burkert, four sons Thomas (Laura) Burkert of Washington, D.C., William Burkert of Hollywood, FL., Peter (Connie) Burkert of Ft. Myers, James (Sharon) Burkert of Spokane, Washington and eight grandchildren.
Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 5, 2003 at 2:00 PM at North Ft. Myes Memorial Funeral Home.
