Barbara Dianne (Ballard) Bryant departed this world on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Hope Hospice after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 31, 1947 to Melvin and Norma Ballard of Bokeelia, FL. Barbara spent most of her life in North Fort Myers, except for a short stint in Tennessee and Arizona. She is survived by her daughter, Jodie Davis Dale (Robert) and grandchildren Bridget and Jack, of Discovery Bay, CA; mother, Norma Ballard of Fort Myers, Joyce Ballard Mitchell (Tim), Upper Captiva; brothers, Robert Ballard (Ellen) of Fort Myers, David Ballard (Livia) of Beverly Hills, FL and Harry (Bo) Ballard (Gloria) of Columbia, SA; nieces and nephews: Norma Humphrey, Andy Sabato, Jeffrey Ballard, Megan Ballard Conklin, Andrea Ballard. She will be missed by her close friends since childhood, Patty (DesForges) Jacobs and Marlene (Horne) Kelly. She was predeceased by her husband, Damon (Joseph) Bryant, and father, Melvin Ballard. Barbara will be remembered as always extending a helping hand to anyone in need and devoted herself to caring for her mother. There was never a time when she didn't have someone under her wing. She loved to cook and sew and was outstanding at both. She wanted to be remembered as a woman who tried to live by her faith. She will be missed by the many family, friends, church and work associates that were at the receiving end of her kindness, support and love. Respecting Barbara's wishes, there will be no ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to Hope Hospice or Gulf Coast Humane Society. Family and friends may sign the guest register by visiting www.dignifiedcreations.com
