Bobbie Kerby Obituary

Obituary

Bobbie Kerby, 85, of Cape Coral, FL passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Bobbie and her husband, Lawrence Kerby, had divided their time between Cape Coral and Westlake, Ohio until settling permanently in South Florida.

Before retiring in the early 1980's, Bobbie worked for 35 years for the Society National Bank (now KeyBank) in Cleveland. She started in the bookkeeping department and rose to Branch Secretary-earning many accolades for her services.

Bobbie and Lawrence were married in 1957 and celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. Bobbie was in New York on a Christmas holiday when Lawrence phoned her and proposed. Bobbie said yes, and Lawrence gave her an engagement ring when she returned.

Bobbie was known for her contagious smile and unsuppressed wit. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and friends.

Bobbie will be deeply missed by her husband, Lawrence, her sister, Pauline Ross, of Fort Myers, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and Amalie Schwartz, her brothers, Theodore, Henry and Joseph, and her sisters Josephine, Wilma and Olga.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice House, Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E, Cape Coral, FL 33909.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
