Cyrus D (Cy) Phippen
Sept 30, 1931 - March 3, 2014
Cy passed to the Church Triumphant from his home in Bayside Estates in Ft Myers Beach, FL. He was pre-deceased by his wife Beverly and his parents, C.D. Phippen and Julia Phippen Kannenberg. He is survived by his sister Gail D. Phippen McMahan of Chattanooga, TN, three children, Michele L. Donnelly of Dexter, MI, Kimberly D. Pegg of Birmingham, AL and James D. Valentine of Columbia, SC and four Grandchildren. Cy and Beverly retired to Ft Myers Beach, Fl in 1990. He finished his career in logistics for the automotive industry with retirement from Jupiter Transportation in Kenosha, WI. Previous homes were in the Greater Detroit area where Cy grew up attending primary and secondary schools and Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He was a Life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a Fifty Year Member of Kiwanis International having been one of the youngest Presidents ever appointed in his early years of membership. Cy and Beverly were avid boaters and particularly enjoyed cruising on the Great Lakes. While living in Wisconsin, they crossed Lake Michigan several times to cruise the Western Michigan shoreline. They truly enjoyed Florida in the latter years of their life. In Bayside Estates, Cy was the go to man for several years as he managed the Equipment Loan Program there. He'll be missed by his many friends at Bayside. Cy's Christian Faith has prepared him for departure from this world. Amen

Dear Gail, Chele, Kim, and Jim--Bob and I were so very sorry to hear about Cy. We have fond memories of Bev and Cy when they lived next door to us in Kenosha. Not the least of which were Flanaghan put in the coat closed when someone came to the door; the top of the boat knocked off going under a bridge when boat was being transported from Detroit to Kenosha. Cy and Bev were great neighbors. We missed them when they left for Florida. May the memories of happier times sustain all of you in your grief. With affection,
