October 9, 1947 - July 3, 2016
Ernest V. "Ernie" Bright passed away peacefully on July 3 in Tampa, FL at the age of 69. Ernie is survived by his sons, Marty, Tracy, Ernie Jr., and Travis; his Sisters, Linda, Kathy, and Debra; as well as his cherished grandchildren, nieces/nephews, cousins, and former spouse Nancy. Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Liza Jane Bright and Brother Kenneth. Ernie was born on October 9, 1947 in Arcadia, FL. He graduated from Ft. Myers High School, in 1965 then served his country in the U.S. Army. Ernie was an avid hunter and enjoyed all things outdoors. A time of gathering will be held on Sunday, July 10 at 2:00pm at Linda Godwin's private residence at 12374 Third St., Ft. Myers 33905. All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Ernie's life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Mrs. Godwin's address.

Ernie was a friend, when he liked you, he liked you. You will truly be missed. I enjoyed fishing with you many years ago. Lake Trafford will never be the same!

I only knew Ernie a short time. He had a way of making you feel that he had known you forever. I will miss our talks and our friendship. "Old friends like a rare piece of gold"... Happy hunting and fishing Ernie my dear friend will see you again.
