Eugene Kinchen Obituary


Obituary

Eugene (Gene) W. Kinchen, 78, passed away on April 8, 2008, at Bay Pines Veteran Affairs Hospital. He was born in Brunswick, Georgia on April 15, 1929. He moved to Florida in 1931. During the Korean Conflict, he enlisted in the United States Army, served in the Philippines and was honorably discharged in 1953. He owned and operated his own electrical business, Gene's Electric, in LaBelle for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Masonic Lodge. During the last years of his life, he dedicated himself to volunteering at the All Souls Episcopal Church Outreach Program in N. Fort Myers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kinchen; and his brother, James (Bud) Kinchen, and is survived by his daughter, Janene McLaughlin; son, Dennis Kinchen, and stepson, Ron Kinchen and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A service will be held on April 26, 2008, at 10:00am at All Souls Episcopal Church; 14640 N. Cleveland Ave; N. Fort Myers, FL; 33903 and the Interment will be held, with Military Honors, on April 26, 2008, at 12:00pm, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL, 33907. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to All Souls Episcopal Church Outreach Program.
