Hermann Ziegler

Obituary

Hermann Ziegler, 84, of North Fort Myers, died Thursday. A native of Germany, he resided here for the past ten years formerly of Sauk City, WI and formerly resided in DeKalb, IL. Mr. Ziegler was the owner/operator of the Ratskeller and Riverview Ballroom in Sauk City, WI. He was a past president of the D.A.N.K. Club of WI and IL and a member of the German American Club and the D.A.N.K. Clubs both of Cape Coral.

Mr. Ziegler is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helene Ziegler; eight children: Gerhard Ziegler and wife Lottie of DeKalb, IL, Edeltraut Drake of Sycamore, IL, Irmgard Mack of DeKalb, IL, Rudi Ziegler and his wife Helene of Rockford, IL, Siegfried and his wife P.J. of Cape Coral, Monika Ponti of Blue Mound, WI, Rosemarie Hersil and her husband Eugene of Mauston, WI, Gisela Ziegler-Allen and her husband Duane of Placida, FL; a sister-in-law Erna Schundler of North Fort Myers, FL; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ziegler was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be remembered by all who knew him as an accomplished entrepreneur and much decorated officer of World War II. Mr. Ziegler will always be remembered for the truly unique individual that he was.

Private Memorial Service was held at the convenience of the family. The family would prefer memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Assoc., 1436 Royal Palm Square Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919.
