James Deloye Obituary

Obituary

James Frederick Deloye died on October 15, 2007, at Shell Point Larsen Pavilion of complications from Parkinson's disease.

Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, to James and Mildred Deloye on August 16, 1930. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, he was the Captain of the tennis team and the President of Theta Delta fraternity.

During a career of 32 years with IBM, Jim held key positions in the East and Midwest. His last assignment was in Chicago representing the corporate office of the IBM chairman. Following his retirement in 1987 he worked at the Allen Bradley Corporation as Vice President of Planning of Sales-East until a final retirement to live full time in Fort Myers in 1990.

Jim is survived by Joyce, his wife of 32 years, and four children: Linda Deloye of Wheaton, IL, Maureen Cannon of Baltimore, MD, twins Jim (Shirin) of Chicago, IL, Tom (Wendy) of Lincolnshire, IL, and two step-children Lori Noguchi (Kazu) of Macau, China, & Randy (Christine) McLaughlin of Mequon, WI, and nine grandsons: Taylor, Cole, Cyrus, Parker, Kazuma, Darius, Ian, Connor and Quinten.

Jim was well known for his sense of humor, ready laugh and love of people. A nationally ranked tennis player, he also enjoyed his Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. He touched the hearts of many people and will be deeply missed by hundreds of friends.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the marvelous staff at the Shell Point Larsen Pavilion and the wonderful team from Hope Hospice who cared for Jim so lovingly over the past 13 months. A special thank you to his great friend and supporter, Mike Mullin.

A memorial Mass will be offered at Blessed Pope John the XXIII Catholic Church, Fort Myers at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Nov. 3rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, 33908.
