John "Jack" Collins 1930-2018

Fort Myers - John "Jack" Collins, 88, of Fort Myers United States Air Force 1948-1952, died Thursday morning April 12, 2018 at Hope Hospice after an extended illness.

Jack was born in Lowell, MA. on April 5, 1930, the son of the late Leslie Collins and Elizabeth Walker Collins. He grew up and raised his family in Tewksbury, MA. with his late wife Clara Collins. In 1948 he enlisted in the US Air Force. After his service he became a member of the American Legion and contributed to many of its charities.

Jack worked as a lineman for the New England Power Company in Tewksbury, MA. for over 30 years. In Ft Myers, he worked as a starter at several golf courses. Jack enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and gardening. He was an avid fan of New England sports and NASCAR. His greatest joy in life was spent with his family and friends.

Jack will loving be remembered by his devoted wife Dorothy M. (RIco) Collins along with his two daughters Barbara A. Collins, Sandra L. Simard and her husband Donald F. Simard of Naples, FL. Grampy will forever be remembered by his two grandchildren, Joseph F. Simard and Suzanne C.

DeLadurantey and four great-grandchildren, Marissa and Henri Simard. Calvin and Leo DeLadurantey of Naples. He also leaves behind his brother Robert E. Collins and his wife Leona of Bokeelia, FL.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held Friday April 20. at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr. Ft. Myers FL.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice-Hope Hospice, hopehcs.org.
