Ralph Sauls Obituary


Obituary

Ralph Harold Sauls, 78, of Ft. Myers died June 18, 2005, he was born in North Carolina a son of the late Ralph Brantley and Linda Vivian (Smith) Sauls. Harold served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He received degrees from Campbell Colllege, Wake Forest College, Florida, Atlantic University, University of South Florida.

He moved to the local area in 1957 and worked for the Lee County School Board as a teacher of geography at Ft. Myers Junior High for 10 years before becoming the principal at Edgewood Elementary School for 20 years. He was the square dance caller for The Swingers Square Dance Club for 29 years; he was a memeber of Masonic Lodge #258 and the Scottish Rite; he was a Master Gardener; a man for all seasons; he could do anything. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended First Assembly of God.

Mr Sauls is survived by his wife of 55 years Joyce Vann Mitchell Sauls, his children Jennifer McPhail Sauls Lemmons, of CA, Timothy David Sauls, of Cape Coral, Michael Lee Sauls of VA, Toby Scott Sauls of Ft. Myers, his grandchildren Portia Lemmons, Shannon Lemmons, Frank Lemmons, Jr., Casey Lemmons, David Perch, his sister, Julia Sauls Wells of NC and many nieces and nephews who also loved him.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home onTuesday at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1-2 PM.

Entombment will be in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In his memory memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County or the Alvin Dubin Alzheimers Research Center.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Arden Courts and Hope Hospice North for their wonderful care to Harold.
