Richard Rohaley Obituary

RICHARD P. (DICK) ROHALEY

October 2, 2013

Richard P. (Dick) Rohaley, 88, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on October 2, 2013. Mr. Rohaley was born in Akron, Ohio on July 14, 1925, a son of the late Joseph L. Rohaley and Catherine Wendelken Rohaley.

Mr. Rohaley was a graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Richard was an accountant for over 60 years, an Enrolled Agent with the I.R.S. and a past president of the Florida Accountants Ass'n. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Regina Rohaley and his second wife of 14 years, Marcille Rohaley and one brother, Joseph L. Rohaley. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and a life member of the VFW Fort Myers Beach Post #10097 as well as the VFW Dads and the Knights of Columbus. He leaves to cherish his memory, his six children, Richard L. Rohaley, Michele (Michael) Cheatham, Denis (Yvonne) Rohaley and Pat (Stacy) Rohaley all of Ft. Myers and Elaine (Danny) Albury of Tavernier, FL and Tom (Denise) Rohaley of North Ft. Myers; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Mishler of Ft. Myers and a brother, Albert Rohaley of Akron, Ohio.

Dick loved, as he would say, pushing his pencil. He didn't retire until two weeks before his passing. What he loved most were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever we got together, which was often. He always put his pencil down to visit with any and all of them. He was such a loving father. He also enjoyed football, including his beloved Notre Dame. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier School Cafeteria in Fort Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Hope Hospice.

I didn't know Mr. Rohaley other than he was a St. Cecilia parishioner, but I have known his son Pat for many years and if the whole family is a nice as Pat is what a wonderful family you are. May you find peace knowing the Mr. Rohaley is now home in the presence of the Lord with other family members. You and he are in my prayers.
Yours truly,

Darrell & Anna Banks

To our Florida family

Uncle Dick was the best of the best. He was kind, gentle, generous, courteous, sweet, fair and funny. We loved him like a dad and we knew he loved us like his own kids. If there were more people like him in this crazy world, the world would be a better place.
