USN RET.



Ron Gagnon age 63, died June 3, 2010 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. Ron was born in Dover, NH, December 20, 1946. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara. Ron was retired from the US Navy and US Postal Service.

He enjoyed fishing, racing stock cars and showing his corvettes at car shows. Ron was a life member of the VFW, DAV and VVA. He was a member of Corvettes on the Gulf, Hot Chili Rods car Club, Fleet Reserve Assoc., Swift Boat Sailors Assoc., DESA, NALC, and FL Chief Petty Officer Assoc.

He is survived by his daughter Sharon J. Gagnon and granddaughter Cheyenne Gagnon of Cape Coral.

Donations in Ron's memory may be made to Operation Open Arms, Attn: John Bunch, P.O. Box 101, St. James City, FL 33952

Visitation will be Monday 6-8 PM at Fuller Cape Coral Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. Funeral Service will be conducted Tues., 12 Noon at the funeral home, followed by interment at Coral Ridge Cemetery with full Military Honors. Leave online condolences at: www.fullerfuneralhome.com

Ron & I went through Swift Boat training in early 67 and then served at the same base in Vietnam for 1 year. We had maintained email contact for the past few years and I knew he was devastated by the loss of his wife.
Rest in peace Ron. You were a great shipmate.

I don't remember if I served with Ron on SWIFTBOATS the name sounds familiar. I was in Vietnam April '68-'69 at Catlo, Cosdiv 13. I want you to know you have my condolences. I to am 63 years old.
