Ronald King Obituary


Obituary

Born Ronald J. King, September 20, 1955 in Kokomo, Indiana where he resided until 1973. At age 52 he died peacefully at home in Fort Myers surrounded by friends and family after a courageous and long struggle with chronic illnesses and two liver transplants.

He was a graduate of Haworth High School and then obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Biscayne Paramedical Institute. Later, after discovering his creative talents, he graduated with top honors from Wrights Beauty College and pursued a successful 20 year career in cosmetology. His accomplishments led to numerous awards and recognition including articles in Honolulu Magazine featuring his makeup and hair designs.

His unselfish giving led him to volunteer in several medical studies, including a national research study of the immune system in transplant patients.

He is survived by his longtime companion of 25 years, Dr. O. Rieche, his mother, MaryJo King, sisters Cheryl Hoover and Melinda Ball, brother-in-law, James Ball, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at Saint John The Apostle Metropolitan Community Church 3049 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL, 33901. Saturday June 7, 2008 at 5PM In lieu of flowers, please make donations to:

Omar, and Family,
Ivan and I were sad to hear of Ron's passing, please accept our prayers to you and the family. I hope that someday, your pain will subside and your thoughts will be filled of wonderful memories again, What a lively soul he had!! He will be GREATLY missed.
