Samantha "Sammie Hammie" Jane Herring, age 18, of Fort Myers, passed away April 10th, 2015 in Fort Myers.
"Sammie Hammie" was born Aug. 5, 1996 in Tarpon Springs,, FL, to her parents: Robert and Jane (Ubell) Herring. She was a junior at Riverdale High School. She loved mudding and spending time at River Ranch with her best friend Harlee Harrison. She loved spending time with her friends or her family. Sammie was the peacekeeper of the group, no matter what she always had a smile on her face. She loved the thought of a mystery and what all the possibilities could be. Her favorite flower was a Sunflower, which was as radiant as her soul. She attended Grace Methodist Church in the Shores. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend to those whom were privileged enough to meet and be in her life. She will be missed.
Surviving are her loving parents; Robert and Jane Herring, brother; Zachary Herring, and sister; Alexandria Herring. Also surviving are her grandmothers; Janice Herring and Sharon Ubell, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers; Gene Herring and David Ubell.
A celebration of Samantha's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Grace Methodist Church in the Shores where friends and family will gather starting at 5:00 p.m. for a visitation.

Her mother is one of my best friends all my child hood life and as a adult. I never had the pleasure to meet her but I was told she was just like her mom Jane. So that to me means she was a beautiful, kind, sweet, loving young lady who left this earth way before her time. The photo I see of her is such a beautiful young lady who has a smile of sun. I can remember to this very day riding my bike with Sam I am green eggs and ham, we always laughed and rode our bikes throughout the neighborhood playing from sun up to sun down, Sam had a great smile no matter what, if I was walking in the hall at school having a bad day she'd always come to me slap my shoulder and say "Smile Baby It's Gonna Get Better" If I had the chance to tell you thank you I would, Sam you'll always be in my heart forever and always.
