Alyce Shubert Proaps, 92, of Lenoir City, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Aug. 23, 2023, at her home.
Alyce was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She was a charter employee at Parkwest Medical Center and an American Red Cross volunteer for many years.
Alyce was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harold E. "Frosty" Proaps; an infant daughter; parents, Henry and Martha Connor Shubert; brothers, Ray Shubert and R.H. Shubert; and sisters, Helen Dutton, Lucille Gardner Greene and Virginia "Bunnie" Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Laughlin; grandchildren, Chelsea (Cole) Rogers and Tyler Laughlin; great-grandchildren, Cennedy and Case Rogers; bonus son, retired U.S. Army Maj. Michael (Heather) Proaps; grandchildren, Alex, M.G. Kelley and Brendan Proaps; sister-in-law, Barbara Bright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special "thank you" goes to Caris Healthcare and Geneva Moore.
The family received friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m. with the Revs. Eddie Click and Dwayne Hicks officiating. Private interment was in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City or the Loudon County Animal Shelter.

Michelle I am so sorry for your loss. I use to work with your sweet mother at Parkwest. She was one hard worker and great lady! I will not be able to attend the services as I will be out of town however my mom Glenda will be there. I will be praying for God to comfort you and give you peace during this difficult time.
