John Chambers

1934 - 2025

John "Wayne" Chambers - age 90 of Lenoir City passed from this life at home surrounded by his family and entered into his eternal home with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church. Wayne was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. He was a former Lenoir City Chief of Police and also worked security for the Department of Energy.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Eula "Tooter" Keeble Chambers; parents, Wesley and Dessie Chambers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Lennis Keeble; brother, Ray Chambers; sister-in-law, Wanda Chambers.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Chambers (Judy); daughter, Nancy Wayne Range (Chuck Norman); Tom Sherrod (close friend who he called his son); grandchildren who were the sparkle of his eyes: Brad Chambers (Lucy), Kristy Merriam (John), Tyler Range, and Blake Range (Lexie); great-grandchildren: Colton Chambers, Elwood and Ben Merriam, and Jackson Pippin, Jordan Wayne Range and Brooks Range; brother, Hoyle Chambers (Sonya); sister, Nedra White (Jack); sisters-in-law: Wanda "Polly" Yates, Lorene Brashears, and Sue Fain; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 23rd at Dixie Lee Baptist Church. Funeral services will be follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Steve Meadows and Rev. Taylor Adams officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24th and proceed to the Lakeview Cemetery for 2 p.m. graveside services. Full military will be conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honors Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Chambers, Eddie Range, Brad Chambers, Tyler Range, Blake Range, Chuck Norman, Steve Hey, and Colton Chambers.
