Ronald Wayne "Pete" Tinnell

December 22, 1959 - April 7, 2021

Ronald Wayne "Pete" Tinnell, 61, of Lovingston, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at his home.

Pete was born on December 22, 1959, in Charlottesville, Va., the son of the late George Harvey Tinnell and Peggy O'Neil Carroll Tinnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Heflin Tinnell and a brother, David Tinnell.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Sara Tinnell Mills and husband, Skyler; two brothers, George Tinnell Jr. and Randy Tinnell; three sisters, Renee Tinnell, Penny Tinnell, and Amy Davis; a special aunt, Brenda Amos; and special nieces and nephews.

Pete was a maintenance technician with Wintergreen Resort. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outside, hunting, fishing, gardening and taking a drive in his firebird. He was a car enthusiast that enjoyed restoring antique cars. He was a jack of all trades that could fix anything and willing to help anyone with any repair.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Randy G. Golladay officiating. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel.

All Covid-19 restrictions will be observed and face coverings and social distancing are required.
