Steve Wilson Martin Jr.

February 5, 1951 - August 30, 2021

Steve Wilson Martin Jr., 70, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg.

He was born on February 5, 1951, a son of the late Steve Wilson Martin Sr. and Evelyn Lawhorne Martin.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Minnie Tomlin and Betty Lee Johnson; two brothers, James Martin and Patrick Martin; and his daughter, Jennifer Martin.

Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lawhorne Martin; three sons, Brian Martin (Rebecca), Mark Martin (Melissa), and Christopher Martin (Rachel), all of Amherst; two brothers, David Martin and Clayton Martin, both of Amherst; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Interment was private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, Virginia, (434-263-4097).
