Adolphus Brown

Adolphus Napoleon Brown Jr. Adolphus Napoleon Brown Jr. departed his life on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in South Boston Regional Hospital. Adolphus was born March 14, 1943, in Halifax County, the son of the late Adolphus N. Brown Sr. and Emma Frances Ewell Brown. He was the husband of the late Marion Wilborne Brown. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charlie, Flave, Archie and Andrew; a sister-in-law, Ruby; and a niece, Altovist "Pat". Left to cherish precious memories are three sisters, E. Diane, Preteasta Brown Barksdale (Alfred) and Hattie G. Brown; four brothers, James Harold (Betty), Morgan Dwight, Randy Kirk (Mary), and Lionell Gralen Brown; four nieces, Odessa, Kelly, TeeAl, and BriAna; three nephews, James Shelton, Derek Edward and Andrew Neal Jr.; his extended nephew, Cornelius Turns and his wife (Marilyn); his extended niece, Cindy (Brian) Nalls; three aunts, Sarah Ellen Baldwin, Mamie Clark (Sidney) and Rosa Bell West; three sisters-in-law, Darlene, Odelia and Barbara Coleman Brown; great-nieces and nephews; and a host of close cousins, and friends near and far. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Bethel Grove Baptist Church, 6116 Mt. Laurel Road in Clover with the Rev. William J. Coleman, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, Diane, 7248 Hunting Creek Road, Clover, VA 24534.
