Andrew "Andy" Marshall Pedersen

Andrew "Andy" Marshall Pedersen died peacefully at his home in Lynchburg, Virginia on December 4, 2010. He was born October 19, 1951 in Blauvelt, New York.

Andy was the proud father of Lisa Pedersen Turner (Christopher Turner of Lexington, KY) and Kyle Andrew Pedersen of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by his siblings Rusty Pedersen (Donna), of Nyack, NY; Jo Ann Pedersen Kopf (Ed) of Palisades, NY; and Michael Pedersen (Liz) of Vienna, Virginia as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley Leffingwell Pedersen, and father, Emil (Red) Pedersen of Blauvelt, NY.

Andy majored in Finance and received his Bachelor of Arts from Western New England College in 1974 and his Master of Business Administration from Averett College in 1993. He held various positions at such firms including Hooker Chemical & Plastics, Occidental Petroleum, and Ross Pharmaceuticals. He also founded and operated the accounting service Bow Wave Enterprises. In his spare time Andy loved music, gardening, and woodworking. He played his guitar and taught himself the banjo, harmonica and other instruments. His creations in his woodshop ranged from useful household furniture to keepsakes he gave to family and friends. Andy will be missed as surely he will be remembered.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2010 from 3:00 - 5:00p.m. at Duiguid Waterlick Chapel. Burial will be private.
