Arthur Marshall Morris passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara McIvor Morris. Barbara Ann and Marshall were married for 57 years.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Cristina) Morris of Richmond, Cynthia Morris of Bedford; two grandchildren, Casey Canody, Christopher Sangster.
Born September 20, 1938, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Hermon Lee Morris and Carrie Garrison Morris. In addition, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Lee Morris, Jr. and Thomas Moore Morris; and a sister, Patricia Waldron.
Marshall was a 1957 graduate of New London Academy where he played baseball and basketball. He enjoyed all sports, playing baseball with the American Legion team, as well as tennis and running.
He retired from Bell Atlantic after 38 years of service where he was plant manager of engineering for the western division of Virginia. He was an avid numismatist and proprietor of A&M coins for 45 years. In addition, he had an antique business (Peddler Antiques) in Forest for 25 years.
He was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Forest from 1996 till present and sat in the same seat every Sunday morning.
A funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Mount View UMC by Pastor Miriam Darkin and Phil Paulette with burial to follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.

He sat in same spot each Sunday at church and I sat in front of him. I´ve been ill but recently I started going back to Mountain View and missed his presence. Sad to learn of his passing .
