Beulah Yeatts Arthur

Beulah Yeatts Arthur, 92, of Altavista, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Autumn Care. She was the wife of the late Charles William Arthur Sr.

She was born March 2, 1918, in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Lee Yeatts and Sabra Doss Yeatts. She was a retired employee with Burlington Mills and Altavista Garment Factory, a devoted member of Central Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, crafts, fishing, puzzles and cards.

She is survived by one daughter, Gaynelle Rice, and her husband, Randy, of Milford, Del.; one son, C. W. Arthur Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Connie A. Harlow, and her husband, Jim, of Forest; one surviving sister from a family of 12 children, Myrtle Wade, of Altavista; six grandchildren, Cindy Peterman and her husband, Steve, Scott Arthur, Brandy Garrison and her husband, Lance, Sabra H. Turner and her husband, Wes, Jay Harlow and his wife, Ronda, and Avery Harlow; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen Lindale and her husband, Tony, Joel Peterman and Hayden Garrison.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Hester Ann Arthur and Katherine A. Garner, and one grandson, Justin Garner.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday May 26, 2010, at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Michael Duncan Jr., with burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
