Bootsie Wayne Kidd, 70, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Valerie Morris Kidd.

Bootsie was born May 31, 1951, in Lynchburg a son of the late Archie Kidd and Lorine Hargis Kidd. Bootsie owned and operated Wayne Kidd, Inc. in Madison Heights.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Morgan Kidd (Chase Powers) of Monroe, and Jenny Cash of Lynchburg; a sister, Sandra Kidd Coffey (Andrew Coffey) of Madison Heights; two grandchildren, Sophia Powers and Parker Cash, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Bootsie's Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Carl Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his physicians and to everyone for the visits, phone calls, notes, texts, and expressions of love.

Mr. Kidd was always so friendly when he entered the Cancer Center. He gave all the screeners at the door a sweatshirt & Wandering donuts. I will miss seeing him & his sweet wife. My prayers are with you Valerie.
