Caroline REEVES Obituary

Caroline P. Reeves

Mrs. Caroline P. Reeves departed this life Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 6, 1926, to the late William and Victoria Pierce. She was the loving wife of the Rev. David Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Leo Arnold, and daughter-in-law, Alice Reeves.

Caroline was a member of First Church of Jesus, Apostolic Holiness Church, formerly known as Third and Jackson Street Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Welma Arnold Jr. and Daniel Reeves (Speedy), and former daughter-in-law, Ruth R. Arnold; 10 grandchildren, Sharon Hayes, Thaddeus Arnold, Wilma "Faye" Blair (George), Carolyn Booth (Harry), Tony Arnold, Wanda Miller (Jhervel), Daniel Reeves Jr., Fred S. Dale, Tracey Clark and Deion Elliott; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her devoted and best friends, Josephine Kelly and Mary Chukwu (prayer partner); and a host of other family and friends.

The family expresses a special thank you to the Staff and caretakers at Guggenheimer Nursing Home and Hospice Care.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at New Dearington Baptist Church, with the Rev. Garry Davis officiating and Elder William Anderson, eulogist. Interment will be in the Baptist Cemetery. Her remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends at 241 York St. and 237 York St. The cortege will assemble at the church.
