Carolyn Breeden Doss, 77, of Rustburg, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. She was the wife of the late Dwight "Fogie" Winston Doss for 58 years.
Born in Lynchburg on December 27, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Odell Breeden and Marion McFaden and was also preceded in death by a brother, William L. Breeden.
She is survived by two sons, Derek (Stacy) Doss, Greg (Kim) Doss; three grandchildren, D.J. (Mia Griner) Doss, Lindsey Hall, Trevor (Hailey) Smith; three great-grandchildren, Samuel Perrow, Scarlett Perrow, Clara Hall; and a brother, Roy A. Breeden.
Carolyn was a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family very much. She was a member of Bethany UMC and was very active over the years and was retired from the Commissioner of The Revenue for Campbell County, where she worked for 37 years.
The family would like to thank Centra Health Hospice Team for their great care and guidance.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg.
