Charles Anderson Obituary

Charles Irby Anderson

Charles Irby Anderson, 76, of Beales Lane, Nathalie, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at his home. He was the husband of Frances Myers Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was born in Halifax County on July 11, 1932, son of the late Willie L. Anderson and Edith R. Anderson. He was a member of Republican Grove Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Daystrom Furniture Industries and was also a retired farmer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Timothy Anderson of Nathalie; one stepdaughter, Brenda T. Thompson and husband, Bob, of Nathalie; one stepson, Gerald Tuck and wife, Donna, of Nathalie; four step-grandchildren, Bobby, Amy, Christie and Brandon; four step-great-grandchildren, Meagan, Nickolas, Thomas and Amelia; one brother, Kenneth Anderson of Lynchburg; one sister, Pauline Russelle of Richmond; one niece, Linda McCord; and three nephews, Tommy Lewis, Billy Lewis and Matthew Anderson. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Lewis and Earle Anderson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Keith Williams and the Rev. Jeaux Simmons, with interment to follow in Republican Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2008, at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal, and other times at the residence.
