Charlie Haden Keesee

Charlie Haden Keesee, 86, of Lynchburg, passed from this life into Heaven on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Salem. Born June 16, 1924, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late William Richard Keesee and Alvine Wilford Keesee.

Mr. Keesee was a faithful member of The Church of God on Leesville Road in Lynchburg, and he was a retired crew chief for the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Keesee is preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Keesee is survived by one son, Larry Dale Keesee, of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Edith LeFebvre, of Mineral; one granddaughter, Caryn L. Marion, of Bumpass; one grandson, Benjamin "Toby" LeFebvre, of Louisa; several cousins; his former wife, Ruby Palmateer Foster; and a very dear sister in Christ, Shirley Pilfrey.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with Pastor Paul H. Horton and Pastor Joseph Hill officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of God, Leesville Road, Lynchburg.

Charles was my favorite uncle on my father's side. He always made me laugh as a child or after returning from Vietnam. He was a good man at heart.
