I met Dell at Emory and Henry College, we were roommates and continued our friendship for nearly 50 years, talking on the phones, writing letters and visiting when we could. We last spoke April 2024 and had plans to meet up, after I didn´t hear from her I googled her name and found her obituary; my heart is broken There will NEVER be another Dell! I loved her deeply

Across Generations is very saddened to hear of this news. We are so grateful for Ms. Cordelia and were inspired by her passion for serving others at McGurk House. We will always remember her thoughtful compassion and enthusiasm for service.

As an advocate for persons with disabilities Dell was always one who did her best to serve. She was undeniably a great source of comfort to many families.

Growing up in the same neighborhood, I met Dell in the first grade. We went to the same school from 1st grade all the way through High School. It breaks my heart to know that Dell is gone. Losing someone you´ve known all of your life is like losing family because they ARE FAMILY!
Dell had a huge heart with much love for her family, her friends and those that she worked with and cared for.
My sincere condolences to each of you

Dear Dave, Harrison and family members,
It was a privilege to grow up with Dell as a friend. Because we were arranged alphabetically in school, we were always seated next to each other: Hancock, Harper. Dell was always a thoughtful, kind, and generous friend - I never heard her say a bad word about anybody. I was glad to reconnect with her these last few years, and I am so sorry we didn't have more time with her. I offer you my sincerest condolences.
