Dear Cardwell Family,

I was so saddened to hear of David's passing. I had the privilege of coaching against him while he was at Amherst and E.C. Glass. On all of those occasions, he was the consummate gentleman and a gracious competitor. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship we developed over the years and was always blessed by our interactions. I know he had a profound influence on all of the young ladies' lives he coached. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to call him a friend.

It is my hope that you all will be constantly encouraged and comforted by all of the wonderful memories that you have shared with him. God bless each of you and wrap you in peace.

Deepest sympathy to you, Debbie, and Carrington. David was a winner wherever-Holy Cross, Amherst, ECGlass, Appomattox. He was hard on the refs, but that was his job-to fight for his team. He must have had confidence in me as he took me to Mills Godwin for an important match out of our district. He will be missed!
