Doris "Jean" Adams

October 19, 1946 - August 13, 2025

Doris "Jean" Adams, 78, of Lovingston, Va., passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at her home. Born October 19, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Earl Manning Jr. and Doris Virginia Kidd Manning.

Jean had worked for Hermle Clock Co. for 20 years, and was also a caregiver for Johnson Senior Center for 10 years. She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Adams (Tammy); grandson, Casey Wayne Adams; brother, Kenneth Wayne Manning, and a sister, Deborah Lynn Mason of Virginia Beach, Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elwood Franklin Adams; daughter, Sherry Lynn Adams, and brother, Earl Don Manning Jr.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. John Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home.
