I had the honor of organizing his retirement ceremony from active duty in 1999. Was quite the honor and privilege. God Bless you CAPT Fox. ~CAPT Sean Murtagh, USCG

Capt Fox an I served together at both USCG Support Center, Elizabeth City, NC and USCG HQ, Washington, DC. He was a competent physician, a dedicated officer, and an extremely nice man. It was an honor serving with him. My thoughts and prayers are for Capt Fox and with his family and friends,

Fox Family,
Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for your (our) loss. Earl was a good shipmate and, like you, we loved him too. We only hope that our offer of sincere sympathy will somehow ease your pain.
The Bang Gang
Lord this departed Shipmate with dolphins on his chest,
Is part of an outfit known to be the best.
Please welcome him and offer him your hand,
As you no doubt know he's the best in the land.
And also heavenly Father add his name to the roll
Of our departed Shipmates who serve on Final Patrol.
Assure them all that we, who still survive
Will always keep their memory alive.

I was honored to meet the Admiral when my daughter Lisa, (retired from CC) brought him to Dad's nursing home to celebrate Father's Day. What a delight he was and thoroughly enjoyed having him. Lisa was so overwhelmed when she found out that The Admiral, whom she knew years ago while in the Coast Guard and was so impressed with him, was here in Lynchburg. As Lisa said, he always spoke highly of his wife and family and now he has joined his wife again after all these years. God bless your family.
