Elsie Falls Obituary

Elsie Cooper Falls

Elsie Cooper Falls, of Forest, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at the age of 91. She was a resident of Heritage Green Assisted Living for the past three years. Born in Welch, W.Va., in 1918, she was the eldest daughter of Guy J. Cooper Sr. and Margaret Walker Cooper, residents for many years of the Walker family ancestral home in Forest.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Falls Clements; her son, Charles M. Falls; a granddaughter, Amanda C. Sandos, of Forest; two grandsons, Louis E. Sandos, of Highland, Ind., and Jason G. Falls, of Louisville, Ky., and their wives; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Falls Sr.; two brothers, Guy J Cooper Jr. and James W. Cooper; and a sister, Margaret Cooper Bicanic.

Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke is assisting with arrangements. Friends and family may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, April 18, 2010, at the residence, 1705 Thomas Jefferson Road, directly across from Jefferson Villas in Forest. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Forest Volunteer Fire Department or Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church.

I had the pleasure of taking dance from Mrs. Falls for most of my preteen and teenage years, then I had the opportunity to work w/ her at the Town of Vinton, I have many fond memories of year, my thoughts are w/ you. She will be greatly missed.
