Sending prayers to Mr.Hubbards family and all that loved him.I ran into Mr.Hubbard several months back at the post office. He was trying to get the mail out of his P O box and had several different keys.I saw him trying to see what key would work,so I went over to assist and we both ultimately went to the window to ask for assistance.None of his keys worked,I asked the lady if she could open his box for him this time and she did.The attendant and I both tried to get him to give all the other keys that did not work to the clerk in exchange for one that did,Mr. Hubbard spoke up and said,in his kind voice," Not today,I may need them".As our elder, the clerk and I agreed, finished up his business and thanked the both of us.You see,I had seen Mr.Hubbard numerous times where I worked and always heard of what he did and continued to do for the community.I felt like I was helping a Legend. It was an honor to stop and assist him, even though I did not tell him,I'm sure he felt the love and respect that the clerk and I had for him.He will not be forgotten and if all us can leave this world with a small portion of what he gave to all he touched, then we shall blessed to have all the love that we all had and will continue to have for him."Well done thine faithful servant, you can rest now.Amen,Cynthia Perkins and Family

I didn't know Pastor Hubbard that well but on occasion, when I did some maintenance to the building where he had his radio station, he would warmly greet me with a smile and a word about God's glory. He was a very dedicated man and I am saddened by his passing even though I know he is with the Lord.

My sincere condolences to the Hubbard family and may the Lord comfort and keep all of you. As children, my siblings and I always look forward to hearing Elder Hubbard reminding us on the radio to "get up you sleepy heads, it's time for school." He was always cheery and up beat. He was an icon in the Lynchburg communities, and will be remembered for his sunny disposition. Rest well Sir!

He was an old friend of our parents Bessie and Lawrence Graves. He did their taxes. My mom listened to his gospel hour every morning. He reached out to Camp 29, never forgot. A pioneer for FM radio. He will never be forgotten.

Prayers for Pastor Hubbard's family and friends. My husband and I always enjoyed him on the radio. He was a master of phraseology, no matter the subject--even his commercials (especially "the big men's sto' where the big men go!") He was a blessed soldier for the Lord. Heaven is richer with his homegoing.
