Frank Tomlin Obituary
Born on October 8, 1938, in Amherst County, Frank was the cherished son of the late John Jordan Tomlin and Beulah Mae Tomlin. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Elwood Tomlin, Carlton Tomlin, Wayne Tomlin, and Archie Tomlin, as well as his four sisters, Barbara Campbell, Mildred Falls, Ora May Tomlin, and Betty Sue Tomlin.
Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated over 30 years of his life to Rock-Tenn, where he retired. He was not only a diligent worker but also a skilled woodworker, specializing in creating beautiful furniture for numerous members of his family. His craftsmanship was a testament to his dedication and love for his family.
Among his many passions, Frank found solace in gardening, cultivating a vibrant and blooming oasis around his home. However, his greatest joy in life was undoubtedly his family, with his grandchildren holding a special place in his heart. Frank's unwavering love and devotion to his family were the cornerstones of his life, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly T. Thomas (Mike); his son, Frank W. Tomlin, Jr.; three grandchildren, Brandi T. Sligh, Cara N. Tomlin (Corey) and Mason W. Thomas (Becca); five great grandchildren, Devin Sligh, Ryleigh Weakley, Daryn Dejarnette, Walker Thomas and Stetson Thomas; and one sister, Patricia Cash.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Chaplain Ron Tomlin and Pastor Jeffrey Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the funeral home.
