Geraldine Saunders Obituary
Geraldine Goodman Saunders, 73, of Goode, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born Sunday, March 14, 1937, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Booker Carson Goodman and Bessie Hortense Laughlin Goodman.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Maurice Saunders; two sisters, Florence G. Witt and husband, Macon, and Arlene G. Wilson and husband, Boe; a brother, David Goodman; and a great-grandaughter, Aikyrra Brown.
Surviving are her sons, Wesley Saunders, of Lynchburg, and Jerry Saunders, of Alexandria; a daughter, Gail Saunders, of Evington; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Billy) Goodman, of Lynchburg; two sisters, Phyllis (Trudy) G. Treadway and husband, Fremon, of Altavista, and Cathy Goodman Laughlin, of Lynchburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Pisgah Presbyerian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 11, 2010, at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.

Dear Family.. My heart goes out to you'll for the loss of your mom. I do so sympthize with your feelings, as I also had a loss for my mom just a couple months ago.. .. As you know or they say she is in a better place.. I do believe she is, but its the thought of your mom leaving.. Have no regreats for where she is and always know you'll be with her in due time.. My God give you'll peace and strength to heal in the process and your families be strong..
