Graham G. Parker Sr.

Graham G. Parker, Sr., 73, of Bedford, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at his residence. He was born September 27, 1934, in Bedford County, a son of the late Elijah Price Parker and Ada Bell Carter Parker. Graham retired from Rubatex Corporation after 37 years of service. He was well known throughout the community for his hobby of peddling produce and socializing. In addition to his parents, Graham was preceded in death by four brothers, H. Price Parker, Sr., Kenneth B. Parker, Tommy S. Parker and Winston W. Parker; and a great-grandson, Jordan Joshua Parker. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Mae Overstreet Parker; five children, James Parker and his wife, Pam, Graham G. Parker, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, Donnie Parker and his wife, Sandy and Gary Parker and his wife, Brenda; Deborah Isom and her companion, Terry Overstreet; three sisters, Eleanor Mae Overstreet, Judith Ann Heck and Mary Alice Amos; one brother, Jack Parker and his wife, Rosemary; twenty grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of Graham's life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2007, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Reverend Geoff Hubbard and Reverend Samuel F. Jones officiating.
