Harold Massie "Ray" Byrant

Harold Massie "Ray" Bryant, 75, of Amherst, went to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at his residence. He was born Aug.22, 1935, in Montebello, to the late Gilbert Bryant and the late Lucy Fitzgerald Bryant.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Margaret Hazel Bryant and his siblings.

He is survived by four daughters, Donna M. McCauley and her husband, George, Ruth Johnson and her husband, Marvin, Karen Holly McLaughlin and her husband, Donald James McLaughlin, Bonnie D. Bryant and Brian Habel; his one son, Daniel M. Bryant and his wife, Debra; twelve grandchildren, Jeremiah, Shannon and Julianna McCauley, Christine and Steven Johnson, Jessica and Erica Bryant, Anna and Emily McLaughlin, Roger and Ricky Mays and Rachel Oliver; eight great-grandchildren, Hailey Johnson, Jennifer and Zachary Cox, Ashlynn and Michael Bryant, James Ray Mays, Abigail McCauley and Abigail Bryant.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in the Chapel of the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Carroll Martin Jr. Interment will be in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft.
