Hazel Goode Obituary
Hazel N. Goode, 90, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Ruck & Pratt, Lynchburg, VA. She was born on April 24, 1934, to the late Bruce and Frances Goode.
Hazel attended Bedford County Public School. She worked at the Burlington Factory and domestic house worker.
She joined the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, she was an active member in various organizations until her health declined. She enjoyed singing in the choir.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Frances Goode; her daughter Elaine Anderson; and two brothers, Willard and Moscoe Goode.
Left to cherish her memories are: her loving and devoted daughter, Sharon Clark, Lynchburg, VA; son-in-law, Carl Anderson, Big Island, VA; grandson, Johnathon Anderson (Ashley), Bedford, VA; granddaughter, Ashley Clark, Lynchburg, VA; two great-grandsons, Warren Anderson, Bedford, VA, and Malachi Scott, Lynchburg, VA; two aunts, Mildred Rose, Amherst, VA, and Irene Holmes, Maryland; and one uncle, Robert Carter, Mt. Laurel, NJ. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 16242 Big Island Hwy, Big Island, VA 24526 with Bishop M.D. Mays officiating and Rev. Garrett Harmon as the eulogist. Interment will be at the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
