Herman Puckett Obituary
Herman, 87, of Spout Spring, died Friday, June 7, 2024. He was the loving husband of Jean Rosser Puckett.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on May 7, 1937, he was a son of the late Mary Louise Grishaw Puckett and Herman Jones Puckett. Junior was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church. He owned Puckett Floor Company for 30 years, before retiring to workfrom home with Puckett Auto Sales and a Paint and Body Shop. Junior drove his motorcycle to every state of the Union except Hawaii with the Appomattox Drifters. He was known far and wide for his garden each year.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Darrel W. Puckett and wife, Meg of Appomattox and Lisa Puckett Hickam and husband, Hunter of Roanoke; two sisters, Diane P. Kendrick of Florida and Debbie P. Knight of Spout Spring; five grandchildren, Abigail Puckett, Aaron Puckett, Anna Margaret Puckett, Hunter Hickam and Spencer Hickam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Demple "Dee" Johnson and Cecilia Beatrice "Sis" Ayers.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Small officiating. Burial will follow in New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
