Janet Farrar Obituary
Janet Estes Farrar, 86, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was the wife of the late Virgil "Pete" Farrar, the love of her life! She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Lynn DeShano.
Janet was born on April 8, 1939, in Keswick, Va., a daughter of the late Eugene Estes and Nannie Woodie Estes. She was retired from the Development Office at Westminster Canterbury and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Janet was a loving and friendly person who truly "never met a stranger" and will be remembered always for her welcoming smile and terrific hugs!
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Joseph DeShano (April) and Jeff DeShano (Jacqui); and grandson, Darrin Blake DeShano; and granddaughter, Alexis Grace DeShano, all of Lynchburg.

I loved Janet. We worked together at Westminster and stayed friends for many years after. I miss her smile, her humor and her deep sense of caring.
