Joan Patricia Wilmouth, 72, of Forest, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010. She was the wife of the best blind date ever, William "W.C."

Wilmouth Jr.

Mrs. Wilmouth was born Saturday, Feb. 12, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Jack D'Agati and Marie D'Agati. She was a happy and easy-going person that loved to travel and was always ready to pick up and go on a new adventure. Her family, her God and her church,

St. Thomas More, were the most important parts of her life.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, William Wilmouth III and wife, Mary Ann, of Highland Lakes, N.J., Maria Swyhart and husband, Brian, of Lynchburg, and Jim Wilmouth and wife, Elizabeth, of Salem; her daughter-in-law, Carol Wilmouth; her grandchildren, Morgan Wilmouth, Jacquline Swyhart, Rachael Swyhart, Jimmy Wilmouth and Thomas Wilmouth; and her sister, Jackie D'Agostino, and husband, Charles, Lynbrook, LI, N.Y.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

A celebration of Joan's life will be conducted at

11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, with Father Richard Mooney officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Disabled American Veterans Chapter #8, 2337 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
