Minnie Tuck Wishon

Minnie Tuck Wishon, 77, of Lynch Station went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. Minnie passed at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by her family. Minnie was born on Thursday, Dec. 4, 1930, in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Early Lay Tuck and Harriet (Hattie) Hines Tuck. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Furman Lowell Wishon, and four siblings; Olan Tuck, Warren Tuck, A.B. Tuck and Sue Tuck Ferguson. Minnie was retired from Piedmont/Bridgeport Manufacturing. She is survived by two sons, F. Jeffrey Wishon and his wife, Bonnie, of Forest, Gary L. Wishon of Lynch Station; along with three brothers, Ellis (Pete) Tuck, Jackie B. Tuck, both of Huddleston, Early (Junior) Tuck of Lynch Station; and two sisters, Lucy T. Doss of Richmond, Elton T. Mayhew of Moneta. Minnie also leaves behind four loving grandchildren, Jennifer A. Wishon, Mark L. Wishon, Brandon J. Wishon and Kevin R. Wishon. Minnie was a longtime, devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church of Altavista where she taught Sunday School for many years. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with the Pastor Bobby Brumfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Tuck Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Monday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Huddleston.
