Nina Lee Peterson Moody

Nina Lee Peterson Moody, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Elwood Greenwalt Moody Sr..

Born July 19, 1923, in Appleton, Md., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Annie Lee Peterson. She was a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Elwood "Chip" Greenwalt Moody Jr. and his wife ,Barbara, of Lynchburg, Stephen Lee Moody and his wife, Susan, of Sedona, Ariz.; two sisters, Faye Fritsche and her husband Bill, of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Allene Spence and her husband Paul, of Elkton, Md.; two grandchildren, Sara June Moody of Midlothian, Va. and Brian Elwood Moody and his wife, Ryan, of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by one brother, Carlton Peterson and two sisters, Beverly MacGuiness and Ann P. Lee.

A celebration of Nina's life and faith will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Margaret Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Virginia Memorial Park.
