Palmer Cardwell Obituary

Palmer Neal Cardwell

Palmer Neal Cardwell, 92, of Forest, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010. He was the husband of LoRena Feagan Cardwell. Palmer was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Campbell County, a son of the late Sally Kitt Drinkard Cardwell and the late Neal Dixon Cardwell.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Virginia Cardwell Wilson, and her husband, Joseph; his grandsons, David Wayne Wilson and Richard Neal Wilson, all of Forest; his sister-in-law, Virginia Moon of Lynchburg; his niece, Sally Kaye Ware; his nephew, Bobby Caldwell; and a special caregiver, Lavern Little.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Palmer was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He worked for Southern Parts and Barker-Jennings for many years.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Jan. 6, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Dr. Ricky Ewing and the Rev. James D. Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
