Patsy Davis Obituary

Mrs. Patsy Couch Davis, age 74, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on April 23, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Roy O. Couch and Dorothy Cheatwood Couch, and the wife of the late Kenneth Ray Davis for 32 years.

Mrs. Davis was born on June 10, 1949, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She attended EC Glass and has always been quite the philanthropist. As early as High School, she volunteered at The Central Virginia Training Center. After her children were born, she devoted all of her time to them. She then went to work at J Crew for 12+ years until her Husband became ill. She was the owner of Timberlake Insurance Agency (started by her late husband Kenneth & managed/ run by her Step Daughter Wendy Sterne and Son, Mick Davis).

She loved living in the mountains and visiting the beach whenever possible! Her passion in life for the last several years has been anything revolving around animals! She had a successful pet sitting service which was a perfect fit for her sweet soul. She adored all of the animals she cared for and treated each of them as her own. Pat's pet sitting business brought her so much joy and she was blessed to do what she was so passionate about!

Mrs. Davis was an avid lover of all animals. Growing up, she loved riding and taking care of her horse who she was lucky enough to keep in her backyard! She also had a love for birds and owned many throughout her lifetime. She leaves behind a bird named "Sunny" and a cat "Nelson" who can usually be seen "working" or hanging out at Boonsboro Hardware Store!

Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, her Daughter Terrie Davis Donovan; Son Mick Davis; as well as a Step Daughter Wendy Sterne & Husband / her son in law Tom Sterne; her grandchildren Madalyn Ray Sterne and Parker Thomas Reynolds Sterne; her siblings; Roy Couch (RD); and his wife Jan, a niece Pam Couch Layne and a very special friend whom she loved like a son Alan Josue Reyes Perez as well as many loving friends in the community.

The family would like to thank a very special Dr. Patti Powers & Jenny Hall for all of the love, care, prayers and guidance you provided…you both are truly amazing! They would also like to thank Nayar Hospice for the excellent assistance they provided.

A celebration of life will be held at Mrs. Davis's residence on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring their fur babies to honor Pat's love for animals!

A visitation will be held on April 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Reverend Jarrett Banks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, if you'd like to consider a contribution to the Lynchburg Humane Society, https://lynchburghumane.org/donate-now/. (https://lynchburghumane.org/donate-now/) in her honor.

I remember Patsy back in the day when she would
Ride her house around forest hill
Circle I can´t remember his name (Blackie)? But what I do remember is that he was the biggest horse I have ever seen at 19hands high and have such fond memories of Couch´s store where we would save up soda pop bottles in exchange for a nickel bag of candy , those were the days and I thank the Couch family for them . Our hugs and prayers for Patsys loved ones

I am in shock, and so sorry for your loss. Pat was the one who brought my Dad and me back together and for that, I will always cherish her. Her love of animals and dogs and this country were the things that brought us even closer even though we lived miles and miles away. I will truly miss her. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to her family.
