Scott Pearl Obituary

Scott Eugene Pearl

Scott Eugene Pearl, 70, a beloved resident and business owner in downtown Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born on November 29, 1954, in New Jersey, he was the son of Joan M. Pearl and the late Eugene S. Pearl. He graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors Degree which provided him with an excellent business sense and acumen. He successfully continued a legacy business that was facing closure and turned it into a beloved downtown staple that's still thriving today, Bailey Spencer Hardware. He was known for his dedication to his family and loved ones through his hard work and selflessness. He was happiest when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a longtime member and former lay leader of Bethany United Methodist Church in Monroe, Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two sons, Travis Pearl (Katie), Michael Pearl (Rebecca); grandchildren, Ariana Pearl, Carolina Pearl and Ivy Pearl; brothers, Bruce Pearl (Chris) and Wayne Pearl (Patti); nieces, Katherine Pearl, Leanne Pearl, Sarah Pearl Stump (Corey), Taylor Pearl; and nephew, Brandon Pearl (Nadia).

In honor of Scott's generous and caring nature, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to his beloved church, Bethany United Methodist Church, 732 High Peak Rd, Monroe, VA 24574.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Bethany United Methodist Church. To share online condolences with the family, please visit www.whittenmonelison.com. Whitten Monelison Chapel is serving the family.
