Walter Brugh Obituary
Walter Costello Brugh Sr., 85, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Oscar and Kittie Swartzel Brugh; sister, Berdine Ulrey; and brother, Edgar Brugh. Mr. Brugh served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired engineer with 40 years of service with the Norfolk Southern Railway.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Blake Brugh; a daughter, Vivian Kay Stockton of Buena Vista; two sons, Walter Costello Brugh Jr. of Roanoke, Steven Blake Brugh and wife, Debra, of Forest; sisters, Kathleen Hale, Janie Hancock and husband, Ben, all of Salem; brothers, Henry Brugh and wife, Elaine, of Roanoke, Billy Brugh and wife, Melba, of Cartersville, Ga.; grandchildren, Kristen Brugh, Laura Brugh, Landon Brugh, Avery Brugh and Todd Stockton; with one great-granddaughter Macie Stockton; and special family, Boyd Shank and wife, Sandy, of Salem.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice; or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007.
