Wayne BORTZER Obituary

Wayne Terry Bortzer

Wayne Terry Bortzer, 61, of Evington, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

Mr. Bortzer was born July 11, 1946, in Lynchburg, a son of the late Elmer Wayne Bortzer and Margaret Granger Chapman Bortzer. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Wilson Edward Chapman, and his stepmother, Rena McMaster Bortzer. He was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry where he was a welder. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

He is survived by his sons, Danny Wayne Bortzer, Christopher Gene Bortzer, and Michael Wayne Bortzer and his wife, Arlene, all of Lynchburg; and a grandson, Brent Michael Bortzer.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray Triplett officiating.

Memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
