Al Lauritsen

Lauritsen - Al "Buzz," formerly of Hicksville, NY, passed away peacefully at home in Edgewater, FL, on September 9, 2025, at the age of 87. He shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with Riki, his high school sweetheart. Al was a devoted dad to Janet, Judi Flanagan (Jim), Jimmy; and the proud "Poppa" to Alex, Megan, Ryan, Victoria, Skylar, Dean, and Logan. His heart was full knowing he would soon become a great-grandfather. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby; sister, Carol; and leaves behind his sister-in-law, Judy Clarke; and brother-in-law, Alan Clarke (Connie). Al devoted 38 years of his career to the circulation department at Newsday, where he made many lifelong friendships. A huge sports guy, Al was a lifelong NY Mets, Jets and Islander fan. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing horseshoes. Memorial donations can be made in Al's honor to Ollie's Angels Animal Rescue in Greenlawn, NY, a cause close to his heart.
